Original Light Reactive Painting
11x14 inches on stretched canvas with a 3/4" edge. Sides painted black. Made with acrylic, natural mica flakes, mylar, sand, crushed glass, phosphorescent pigments, water and light. Signed and dated.
This piece has been years in the making. It's a study for a larger waterfall painting I've been making as well.
Mica is iridescent and has a surface that almost repels paint, so you can see the real mica shining through. Pretty cool.
Shown in natural light, black light, no light, and from many angles. The mylar circle changes from pink to orange to gold to blue, often appearing as a rainbow or prism. :)
